A Look Again at Highlights from 2024 — Nevada Humanities

This 12 months, our Nevada Middle for the E-book featured books by authors Sophie Sheppard and Kim Foster, as they represented our state on the Library of Congress Nationwide E-book Pageant. Getting to satisfy and work with these ladies who care so deeply about nourishing and sustaining their communities was actually inspiring.

Lastly, I’ve enormously appreciated the chance to work with the Neon Pacific Initiative (NPI), a brand new Mellon Basis-funded initiative on the College of Nevada, Las Vegas, to spotlight and elevate AANHPI voices and tradition in southern Nevada. All through the autumn semester, I labored with our first-ever NPI intern Gina Ragudos on applications that spotlight judokas and lei-makers in Las Vegas, and I can’t await the long run public humanities applications that may emerge out of this initiative.
