Assertion from California Humanities on the Southern California Wildfires

Tuesday, January 14, 2025 – California Humanities extends our heartfelt ideas to everybody affected by the devastating wildfires at present ravaging Southern California. The destruction of houses, communities, and cherished cultural and historic areas is an unimaginable loss, and we stand in solidarity with all these impacted throughout this time of disaster.

As we witness the severity of those wildfires, we’re reminded of the power and resilience of our California communities. At California Humanities, we’re dedicated to supporting the restoration and rebuilding efforts, significantly throughout the humanities and humanities sectors that play an important position in preserving our collective tales and experiences.

Our President and CEO, Rick Noguchi, shared, “This can be a time to come back collectively and assist each other in each method we will. The humanities have the facility to convey hope, therapeutic, and connection, even within the face of immense loss. Our hearts and minds are with all who’ve been impacted.”

We acknowledge the important want for well timed sources and have shared a spread of instruments and knowledge to assist humanities and humanities organizations and particular person creatives. These sources, overlaying state and nationwide help, could be discovered on our Instagram web page. We encourage you to go to these platforms for updates and useful steerage.

Our hearts are with Southern California right this moment and all the time.
